Ida Sundqvist to focus fully on Restaurant Vide
After several years as one of the driving forces behind Björk, Ida Sundqvist is now turning her full attention to Restaurant Vide. With a new culinary direction, more experiences and a clear vision, she aims to develop Vide into a vibrant meeting place where the whole family feels at home.

Since 2019, Ida has been a key part of Hemavan’s restaurant scene. She has helped shape Björk into the dining experience it is today while also overseeing the operation of Vide. Now, she is focusing all her energy on Vide, located next to the Kungsliften chairlift in the heart of Hemavan Ski Resort.
“I love the creative process of building a brand and a restaurant concept. Vide has enormous potential, and I want to create a place that guests genuinely look forward to visiting during their stay in Hemavan,” says Ida Sundqvist.
Her vision is clear. Vide should feel like a warm and welcoming living room in the middle of the ski slopes.
“I want it to be relaxed, cosy, lively, simple and really good. Guests should feel just as comfortable eating from a bowl with a spoon as grabbing something with their hands. I want to highlight classic Swedish home cooking. I often say that the simplest food is often the best.”
But the investment is about more than food.
Throughout the winter season, Ida plans to introduce more experiences around the restaurant, including outdoor cooking, events and activities that will bring even more life to the area around Kungsliften. At the same time, many guest favourites will remain.
“Our waffles and café selection are an important part of Vide, and they are definitely here to stay. This isn’t about starting over. It’s about building on what our guests already love while creating something new.”
Looking ahead to winter, Ida is most excited about welcoming both returning and first time visitors.
“Hemavan feels like home to me. I’m looking forward to putting all my energy into Vide and creating a place where people enjoy spending time together and always want to stay just a little longer.”
