Sweden’s highest botanical garden and one of the world’s most northerly. Located next to the botanical garden, at the start of Kungsleden (The King’s Trail), you find the visitor center Vindelfjällens Naturum Hemavan.
Naturum visitors’ centres are exhibition centres where you can learn about the area’s natural and cultural history and get information for your hiking trip in the area.
Visitors can stroll along the 400m path to spot the hundreds of Nordic plants – plus a few Alpine “imports”. Guests are welcome throughout the summer and are welcome to walk around by themselves. Between mid-June and mid August, staff are on hand to point out individual species and answer questions.
Vindelfjällens Naturum Hemavan is the Vindelfjällen Nature Reserve visitor centre, located next to the botanical garden, at the
start of Kungsleden (The King’s Trail) Here you can find out all about the cultural heritage of the area and Kungsleden through a series of displays. Also available are guides to the area, helpful mountain safety advice and a gift shop.
