Hike to Södra Sytertoppen.
That’s a top tip from Tomas Staafjord and Sam Hedman, authors of Fjällvandra i Vindelfjällen (Mountain hiking in Vindelfjällen). It’s a personal favourite that they describe as fairly long, but not particularly difficult. Set out only in the finest of weather, and you’ll be rewarded by mountain birch forests, the spectacular Kobåset mountain valley with its steep cliffs, and amazing views when you reach the peak at 1685 above sea level. You need to be used to being in the mountains and have some experience of hiking with only a map and compass.
